Bo Beskov

Bo Beskow (born February 13, 1906 in Djursholm ; † 1989 ) was a Swedish artist and author. He was a son of Natanael Beskow and Elsa Beskow .

Bo Beskow began his studies at the Art Academy in Stockholm and studied in Rome , Paris and Portugal .

Beskow is best known for its Christian motifs. These include frescoes in the grave chapels of Djusholm and Norrköping , the altarpiece in the Christinae Church of Alingsås and stained glass in the church and in the St. John's Church of Norrkoping and Skara Cathedral and in Växjö Cathedral . In addition, he created several portraits and landscapes as well as illustrations for his own travelogues. Monumental paintings by Beskow are in the UN headquarters in New York . In the former girls' high school Sveaplans flickläroverk in Stockholm In 1939 he decorated the wall of the entrance hall with a mural.

Smaller pictures can be seen in the National Museum and Modern Museum in Stockholm and at Gripsholm Castle .

One of his literary works is Solmannen , in which the character Samson from the Bible is treated.
