Boa variety (officially Distrito de Boa variety ; German Gutglück ) is the fifth district of the Brazilian municipal city of Cantagalo in the state of Rio de Janeiro .

history

The district got its name from the former Fazenda Boa variety on whose lands it originated.

A village ( vila ) grew out of the stops at which the troops exchanged their animals between the Palacete de Gavião (residence of the Count of Nova Friburgo ) and the Fazenda Laranjeiras - the forerunner of today's district seat. Gold mining took place in the mountainous area. The area was created by Federal Law No. 1887 of November 22, 1924 as a spin-off from the former Santa Rita do Rio Negro district, now Euclidelândia. Boa Sorte is the largest district in terms of area and is home to some historical fazendas from the coffee-growing era.
