Mykolaivka ( Ukrainian Миколаївка ; Russian Николаевка Nikolajewka ) is a city in the north of the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast with about 15,000 inhabitants (2014).

The Слов'янська ТЕС thermal power plant in Mykolaivka

Founded in the first half of the 18th century, it was an urban-type settlement during the Soviet period . It was granted city status on November 18, 2003. On September 8, 2016, the city, which had previously been part of the Sloviansk district, was administratively subordinated to the Sloviansk Raion .

The city is located near the south bank of the Siverskyi Donets about 10 kilometers east of the district capital Slovyansk , the oblast capital Donetsk is about 125 kilometers south of Mykolaivka.
