history

The association was founded on February 3, 1986 in Dili by Pedro Miguel Carrascalão , son of Mário Viegas Carrascalão , who at that time was the Indonesian provincial governor of East Timor, which was occupied by Indonesia . "Carsae" is the abbreviation for "Kumpulan Anak Remaja Lorosae" ( German  youth from the land of the rising sun ). Since the name was Timorese patriotic and, despite the origin of the founder, threatened trouble with the Indonesian military, the abbreviation was used. The reason given to the outside world was that “Carsae” was the abbreviation for “Carrascalão”. The “second generation” of the team had their headquarters in Venilale from 1990 , but in 1991 the club had to stop playing after the Santa Cruz massacre due to the general security situation in East Timor, which was occupied by Indonesia . The re-establishment then took place in 2015 in Dili.

At the end of 2017, Pedro Miguel Carrascalão sold the club to the East Timorese businessman Carl Cico Gusmão. On February 6, 2018, the club was renamed Boavista FC Timor-Leste, as the foreign branch of the Portuguese club Boavista Porto . The president of the East Timorese association is now José Ramos-Horta .

cut off

In 2015, the Carsae FC reached in the qualifying round for the newly founded LFA Primeira Divisão in Group A place 1 of 5 and thus the entry into the highest league. In the 2016 season he came in 6th out of 8 and thus just managed to stay in the league, in the 2017 season they came third. In 2018 Boavista won the championship.

At the national cup Taça 12 de Novembro 2016 they were eliminated in the first round against Karketu Dili . In 2017 they failed only in the final against Atlético Ultramar and in 2018 again against Atlético Ultramar in the second main round.
