Bogdaschkino ( Russian: Богда́шкино ) is a village (selo) in Cherdakly district of Ulyanovsk Oblast in Russia with 526 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

Bogdaschkino is located east of the Volga , on the upper reaches of the Uren brook, which flows into the Kuibyshev reservoir of the Volga. The village is located 16 kilometers east of the Rajon administrative center, the urban-type Cherdakly settlement and about 45 kilometers east of the center of the Ulyanovsk Oblast capital .

The majority of the inhabitants of Bogdashkino are Germans . The place is the administrative seat of the rural community Bogdaschkinskoje selskoje posselenije, to which the surrounding smaller villages Novoje Matjuschkino, Petrowskoje, Staroje Matjuschkino and Woikino as well as the settlement at the train station Urenbasch belong.

history

Germans who moved to Russia from Kazakhstan and the former Central Asian Soviet republics began to settle in Bogdashkino in 1989. In the 1990s, a Russian-German “model village” was to emerge. It received the status of a "German national settlement", which was later repealed.

Economy and Infrastructure

In the 1990s, the agricultural companies Freundstadt and Wiedergeburt were founded and a cheese dairy was built.

There is a road connection to Cherdakly, through which the R178 Saransk  - Ulyanovsk - Dimitrovgrad  - Samara road runs. In Tscherdakly there is also a train station on the railway line from Insa via Ulyanovsk to Tschischmy and on to Ufa (former Volga-Bugulma railway ; route km 927 from Moscow ). The Urenbasch stop is closer to the village on the same route .
