The Bohnenkamp AG is a wholesale company for tires , wheels , wheel and components for the vehicle chassis . The company, which was founded in 1950, has its headquarters in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, and 22 other locations in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia.

The Bohnenkamp AG range is aimed at dealers, workshops and manufacturers from the agricultural, transport and earth moving sectors. The company also has a small tire division. The main customer sectors are agriculture, logistics, earthmoving and industry, as well as landscaping and leisure.

With an annual turnover of 336 million euros (as of 2017) and a storage area of ​​130,000 m², Bohnenkamp AG is one of the largest tire wholesalers for commercial vehicle tires in Europe.

history

In 1950 the entrepreneur Friedel Bohnenkamp founded the company as a trading company for vehicle components. In 1959, Bohnenkamp generated the first million in sales. In 1974, when sales exceeded the ten million DM mark for the first time, the company moved to its address, which is still valid today, in Osnabrück Dieselstrasse.

Bohnenkamp founded the first branch in Kletzin in 1992 , followed eight years later in Landshut . The company's first foreign subsidiary was established in 2005 with Bohnenkamp sro in Slovakia . The group's turnover also grew strongly through further company acquisitions such as the takeover of Agriband in Veenendaal, the Netherlands, and in 2011 it exceeded the 200 million euro mark.

With additional business and logistics locations in Austria (2013) and Switzerland (2014), Bohnenkamp AG expanded its presence to the entire DACH region. In 2016 Bohnenkamp also took over the trading business of Starco AG, which is active in the small tire business in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. Parallel to the expansion, the largest tire logistics hall in Europe with a total storage area of ​​130,000 m² was built at the Osnabrück headquarters between 2012 and 2018. Corporate structure

Bohnenkamp has been a stock corporation since 2001. The sole shareholder and widow of the company founder Friedel Bohnenkamp, ​​Gisela Bohnenkamp, ​​founded the "Friedel and Gisela Bohnenkamp Foundation" in 2008. Since then, the Foundation and the Bohnenkamp family each hold 49.5 percent of the non-voting shares. Brands and products in the range

The company generates the main sales by product category (as of 2016) with tires and wheels, followed by components for the vehicle chassis, rims and tubes. The Bohnenkamp AG range includes around 10,000 different products. Bohnenkamp sells numerous brands as primary partner and sole importer in Germany, including tires from the brands BKT , Kenda and Windpower. Other tire brands in the range include Bridgestone, Continental, Michelin and Nokian. The rim program includes brands from Accuride, Boka Wheel and LP rims.

Bohnenkamp AG also works with tire manufacturers to develop customized tires and configure complete wheels in its own production line according to individual specifications. According to the company, the capacity was 350,000 bikes per year (as of 2014).
