Bohumír Strnadel-Četyna

Bohumír Strnadel-Četyna (born October 29, 1906 in Trojanovice , † January 11, 1974 in Čeladná ) was a Czech writer of historical novels. Besides his main pseudonym Bohumír Četyna, he also published as St. R. Ledan and B. Trojanovský .

Life

Strnadel was a nephew of the sculptor Jan Knebl and the brother of Josef , Antonín and Václav Strnadel. He attended the secondary school in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm from 1918 to 1921 and the Catholic seminary in Velehrad from 1923 to 1924 . This was followed by a high school visit in Olomouc and Brno until 1928 . From 1934 Strnadel worked for the radio station Mährisch Ostrau . From 1941 to 1942 and 1946 to 1950 he was the director of the Frenštát City Museum. Strnadel became a member of the Czechoslovak Writers' Union in 1955.

He became famous for his tetralogy of historical novels: Valašský vojvoda, Jednou za slunovratu, Zbojníci and Živly , which deal with the life of the subjects of the Hukvaldy domain .
