Bojan Zulfikarpašić
Bojan Zulfikarpašić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Бојан Зулфикарпашић ; * 2. February 1968 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian jazz pianist who often referred to as Bojan Z occurs.
Life
Bojan started playing the piano at the age of five. In 1986 he studied for three months with Clare Fischer at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan (USA). In 1988 he moved from the Yugoslav Army Orchestra to Paris . He played with Noël Akchoté , Julien Lourau , Magic Malik , in the Marc Buronfosse Quartet and in the Azur Quartet with Henri Texier and Michel Portal .
In 1993 he created his first own project, the Bojan Z Quartet . In 1995 he recorded his first solo album at the Amiens Jazz Festival ( Quartet ). In 1999 he started the world music project Koreni with Vlatko Stefanovski, Predrag Revisin and Vojin Draskoci. In 2000 he played the solo album Solobsession ; In 2003 he recorded the album Transpacific in a trio of Scott Colley and Nasheet Waits .
He is particularly well-known in France, where he has also received prestigious awards (awarded the Order of the Arts by the French government, 2002 Prix Django Reinhardt of the French Académie du Jazz ), but has also worked in the groups of Nenad Vasilić and in recent years Debora Seffer .
