The Bolschaja Synja ( Russian Большая Сыня , "Great Synja") is a left tributary of the Ussa in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
The Bolshaya Synja rises on the western flank of the subpolarural . It flows in a north-northwest direction. The left Kossju tributary Wangyr runs only a few kilometers east of the Synja. The Chernyshev Ridge is located east of the course of the Bolshaya Synja. The Pechora Railway crosses the river at the Synja settlement . The Bolshaya Synja finally reaches the Ussa east of Ussinsk . The Bolshaya Synja has a length of 206 km. It drains an area of 4040 km².
