The Ussa ( Russian Уса́ ) is a 565 km long right tributary of the Pechora in the northern, European part of Russia .

The Ussa arises about 30 km east of Vorkuta on the western flank of the Polarural , shortly before the interface with the Pai-Choi Mountains adjoining it to the north , from the source rivers Great Ussa (Bolshaya Ussa) from the left and Little Ussa (Malaya Ussa) from the right . The Ussa flows mostly southwest and finally flows into the Pechora at Ust-Ussa . The catchment area of the Ussa covers 93,600 km². The Ussa is covered with ice for most of the year . The most important tributaries are the 334 km long Adswa and the 546 km long Kolwa from the right.

The Bolshaya Ussa (Большая Уса́, "Great Ussa") is the left southern and larger headwaters of the Ussa. It rises in the Polar Urals south of the headwaters of the Bolshaya Chadyta on the border with the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug . It first flows a short distance in the mountains in a southerly direction and then turns west. It leaves the Urals and flows through the swampy lowlands in the vicinity of Vorkuta to the confluence with the Malaya Ussa. The Bolshaya Ussa has a length of 98 km and drains an area of 2030 km².

The Malaja Ussa (Малая Уса́, "Little Ussa") is the right northern and smaller source river of the Ussa. It rises in the Polar Urals north of the headwaters of the Bolshaya Chadyta on the watershed to the river system of the Ob . It first flows a short distance north and then turns west. It flows over a distance of 83 km to the union with the Bolshaya Ussa. Its catchment area covers 1420 km².
