The Bolwa ( Russian Болва́ ) is a left tributary of the Desna in Russia in the Kaluga and Brjansk Oblasts . It rises in the Smolensk-Moscow heights. From the source to the mouth it has a total length of about 213 km. The stretch from Djatkowo to Bryansk was navigable in the 19th century. Its catchment area is 4340 km².
