The Bos , also called Bosbach , is a 5.8 km long orographic left tributary of the Nahe in the northeastern Saarland .
geography
The Bos rises on Zallenberg at an altitude of 490 m above sea level. NN . From here the stream flows mainly to the east. The village of Bosen , which belongs to Nohfelden , is passed in the north before the creek reaches the Bostalsee after about 3.4 km of river . Before that, the Pärwiesbach flowing through Bosen joins on the right . The confluence with the reservoir is about 300 m south of the village of Eckelhausen, which also belongs to Nohfelden . The Demelbach flows into the reservoir in the south and is thus a tributary of the Bos. The outflow of the reservoir is located southwest of Gonnesweiler . After just another 1 km of the river, the Bos flows out at an altitude of 379 m above sea level. NN on the left in the Nahe.
On its 5.8 km long stretch of the river, the Bos overcomes a height difference of 111 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 19.1 ‰. In doing so, it drains a catchment area of 12.634 km².
