An International Collection".

In 1941 Salomon fled further to the USA, where he taught as a professor at the New School for Social Research in New York from 1941 to 1943 . In 1942 he also read at the University of Denver . During the Second World War he advised the War Department in Washington, DC In the years 1946-1950 he went as a sociology professor at Columbia University . Salomon returned to Frankfurt as a university teacher in 1958, where he died in 1964.

Theodor W. Adorno and Walter Benjamin were among his Frankfurt students in the 1920s, and Otthein Rammstedt was among his students after 1958 .
