Boudewijn Röell

Boudewijn Röell (born May 12, 1989 in Leidschendam ) is a Dutch rower who was an Olympic knight with an eighth in 2016 .

Athletic career

The 1.95 m tall rower took seventh place in the four with helmsman at the U23 World Championships in 2009 , and in 2010 and 2011 he achieved sixth place with eighth. In 2013 he won the bronze medal with the Dutch eighth at the European Championships , at the World Championships in Chungju , the eighth reached fifth place. In 2014, the Dutch eighth finished seventh at the European Championships and eighth at the World Championships . In 2015, the eighth reached the A-final in both title fights, after a sixth place at the European Championships , Röell won the bronze medal behind the British and the Germans with the Dutch eighth at the World Championships . At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the Dutch eight with Dirk Uittenbogaard , Boaz Meylink , Kaj Hendriks , Boudewijn Röell, Olivier Siegelaar , Tone Wieten , Mechiel Versluis , Robert Lücken and helmsman Peter Wiersum won the bronze medal behind the British world champions and the German European champions . After a year break, Boudewijn Röell started in a largely newly composed eighth in 2018. This new eight won the silver medal at the 2018 European Championships and finished seventh at the World Championships . At the beginning of the 2019 season, the Dutch eighth won bronze at the 2019 European Championships in Lucerne behind the Germans and the British.
