Bouin is a place in the French community Valdelaume and a former municipality last 134 inhabitants (1 January 2015) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ).

The municipality of Bouin merged with Ardilleux , Hanc and Pioussay to form the municipality of Valdelaume on January 1st, 2019 . The municipality of Bouin belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and is part of the canton of Melle (until 2015 Chef-Boutonne ).

Bouin is about 46 kilometers east-southeast of Niort . The municipality of Bouin was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Melleran in the north, Hanc in the north, south and east and Ardilleux in the west.
