The Bracken Peak is a 1240 m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises south of the mouth of the Newcomer Glacier and 5 km northeast of Mount Malone on the east side of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy's VX-6 flight squadron between December 14 and 15, 1959. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the American meteorologist Harold C. Bracken, pilot on these flights.
