The Brandesbachtal nature reserve is located in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .
It extends east of Netzkater , a place belonging to the rural community Harztor , district Ilfeld , and south of Christianenhaus along the Brandesbach . The B 81 and B 4 run to the west of the area . The north and north-west flanks of the Sandlünz , a 516.2 meter high mountain, are part of the nature reserve.

The 209.8 hectare area with NSG no. 73 was placed under nature protection in 2001.
