The nature reserve Schloßberg - Solwiesen is located in the Kyffhäuserkreis and in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .

It extends north of Badra , a district of the municipality of Kyffhäuserland in the Kyffhäuserkreis, and west of Auleben , a district of the rural municipality of Heringen / Helme in the Nordhausen district, on the southern edge of the Kelbra dam . On the eastern edge of the area runs the state road L 1040 and to the west the L 2079. On the northern edge flows the Helme , a left tributary of the Unstrut , on the northern and eastern edge runs the state border with Saxony-Anhalt .

The 541.5 hectare area with the NSG no. 4 was placed under nature protection in 1967.
