Brandon M. Cantu (born May 10, 1981 in Vancouver , Washington ) is a professional American poker player . He is a two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker and is nicknamed The Bounty Hunter ( German for  the bounty hunter ).

Cantu is from Vancouver , Washington state . He lives in Las Vegas .

Poker career

Career

Cantu came to poker as a result of the moneymaker boom in 2003 . He engaged in the game on television and the internet and made a deposit at an online poker room . There he slowly built a bankroll.

In June 2006 Cantu was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and won a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . He prevailed against 2,775 other players and won a bracelet and more than $ 750,000 in prize money. In March 2008, Cantu won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in San José and secured a prize of one million dollars. At the WSOP 2008 he was successful for the first time in the main event and finished in 20th place, endowed with around 250,000 dollars. He finished second in a WSOP event in June 2009 and won his second bracelet just days later by winning a Pot Limit Omaha Hi / Lo tournament , earning him more than $ 630,000 in prize money. In mid-March 2010, Cantu prevailed at the Wynn Classic at the Wynn Las Vegas and secured the grand prize of more than $ 360,000. At the end of September 2012, he finished second at the World Series of Poker Europe played in Cannes and received almost 160,000 euros .

In total, Cantu has earned just under $ 4.5 million in poker in live tournaments.
