The Brandt Center (former name: Regina Agridome ) is a multi-purpose hall in the Canadian city of Regina , Saskatchewan Province . It is the venue for the home games of the ice hockey team Regina Pats , which plays in the Western Hockey League , and in 2012 the women's football team of Regina Rage from LFL Canada .
history
Construction began in 1975 and the hall was opened on October 2, 1977. The arena offers 6,200 seats for ice hockey games and a maximum of 7,129 seats for concerts and replaced the Regina Exhibition Stadium . The current namesake has been the agricultural machinery company Brandt Industries from Regina since 2005 . In addition to ice hockey and football games, the Brandt Center hosts concerts , exhibitions , trade fairs and other sporting events. In 1992 and 2006 the national curling championship for men, called The Brier , and in 1982, 1998 and 2008 the championship for women ( Tournament of Hearts ) took place in the arena. In addition, the Memorial Cup , the Canadian junior ice hockey championship, was held in the Brandt Center in 1980 and 2001 . In 2010, The Brandt was the venue for the Junior (U20) Ice Hockey World Championship next to the Credit Union Center in Saskatoon . In 2011 the hall was the venue for the men's curling world championship .
