The Allersheim brewery

The Allersheim brewery is located in the Allersheim district of the same name , which belongs to the city of Holzminden and was created as the farm of the Amelungsborn monastery .

history

The brewery was founded in 1854 by the then tenant of the Allersheim domain , District Councilor Otto Baumgarten . Baumgarten studied physics and chemistry and then learned the art of brewing from 1851 to 1852 in Munich and built a brewery in Allersheim as a second mainstay in addition to agriculture . As a basis for the production of beer , the Holzminden location offers fresh spring water from the Solling low mountain range on the one hand . The surroundings of Holzminden are also dominated by agriculture, so that barley and hops thrive in the direct catchment area of the brewery. The domain initially supplied the barley itself, the hops had to be bought in. A 1¼ hectare hop garden was later grown on the Burgberg near Bevern .

The company founder died in 1887 and the widow Anna Baumgarten took over the brewery with her family until 1892, before Carl Scheidemann took over the management in 1893 and in 1900 the beer output doubled to 40,000 hectoliters.

Scheidemann died in 1948. His son Dieter Scheidemann remained a partner in the company. Walter Berns took over the company as managing partner from 1948.

In 1950 more than 50 people were employed and the fleet consisted of nine trucks and five horse-drawn vehicles. A lowering of the beer tax in the 1950s and a steady increase in sales enabled the brewery in the Holzminden district to become the market leader in catering.

The family tradition ended in 1967 with the handover of management from Walter Berns to Rudolf Weisbrod. In 1970 the Dortmunder-Actien-Brauerei took over 37 percent of the shares. Under the management of Walter Hopf, the Allersheim brewery took over the Förster und Brecke brewery from Hameln in 1978 , which led to higher beer output.

From 1978 master brewer Rudolf Trittel, a great-great-grandson of the founder, is responsible for production. The Allersheimerügel-Pils was offered from 1979 and reached a sales of 10,000 hectoliters in the first year.

Together with the local newspaper T Tageser Anzeiger Holzminden , the company has been the annual organizer of the press and beer festival (PreBie) in the town hall of Holzminden since 1981. In 1992, Hans-Jürgen Breuer took over the management of the brewery. In October 2003, Rainer Stranz from Dortmund took over the management until December 31, 2012. In May 2009, the master brewer and operations manager Rudolf Trittel retired, his successor being Rudolf Ley, who was previously the second master brewer. From 1978 to 2009 3.071 million hectoliters of beer were produced.

On January 1, 2013, the previous authorized signatory and head of finance and accounting, Bernd Stölzle, took over the management until October 15, 2013. After that, there were two managing directors until June 2014, Stölzle and Stranz. In June 2014 Dirk Brüninghaus succeeds Rainer Stranz as managing director.

In May 2015, the new beers Corveyer Naturtrüb Hell and Corveyer Naturtrüb Dunkel were introduced in cooperation with Victor Herzog von Ratibor (until 2009: Viktor Metternich-Sándor), Fürst von Corvey and the management of the Allersheim brewery.

Managing directors

The brewery was more than 2/3 family owned, the rest was owned by Brau und Brunnen AG. Today 63 percent belong to the shareholders and 37 percent to the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei , which in turn belongs to the Radeberger Group of Dr. August Oetker KG .

Dirk Brüninghaus has been the managing director since June 2014. The master brewer and operations manager is Rudolf Ley , the second master brewer is Rüdiger Klie.

In 2005 the brewery employed around 40 people.
