Bray (noble family)
Bray is the name of an old from Normandy originating French , and later Bavarian noble family , whose direct regular series with Chevalier Guillaume I de Bray , Seigneur de Cherveuil et de Bosc-Grimoult begins, which is mentioned in the years 1210 to 1233 and Philip II and Louis VIII was in service. The family has lapsed, the property passed through marriage to the Barons Poschinger , who took the name Poschinger-Bray in a branch line.

- Bavarian count status on February 20, 1813 in Munich with registration on June 30, 1813 for François Gabriel Chevalier de Bray from Rouen as owner of the court brands Irlbach , Trieching and Schambach and royal Bavarian Privy Councilor .
- French recognition of the descent from the old Norman family de Bray on May 18, 1819; corresponding Bavarian approval to change or restore coat of arms on December 22, 1822 for the same as royal Bavarian envoy in Saint Petersburg .
- Bavarian award of the title “Steinburg” on June 27, 1848 for his son Otto Graf von Bray (1807–1899) as owner of the Fideikommiss Steinburg-Irlbach (Lower Bavaria) and - in connection with this - as hereditary imperial councilor of the Crown of Bavaria since 27 April 1859.
