Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times of May 11, 2004 that the film combined elements of a romantic comedy, a film of confusion and a satire on publishing policy. He lives from the representations of Jamie Foxx, Morris Chestnut and Gabrielle Union, which are funny. Gabrielle Union has a warm smile while Jennifer Esposito looks like a man trap. The film is not a comedic masterpiece, but it is entertaining and effective ( “is not a comic masterpiece, but it's entertaining and efficient” ).

Film Service wrote that the film was a "confused romantic comedy with African American leading actors" . He offers "standardized entertainment with a lot of follies" .

Gabrielle Union was nominated for a BET Comedy Award in 2004; in 2005 she was nominated for the Image Award . Jamie Foxx and Gabrielle Union were nominated for the 2005 Black Reel Award .
