The parish village of Breitenlesau is a district of the town of Waischenfeld in Upper Franconia .

Breitenlesau is located about four and a half kilometers northwest of Waischenfeld and is at an altitude of 457 meters.

history

A Bamberg fief complex has belonged to the Lord von Streitberg since the Middle Ages. As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became a rural municipality, to which the places Rauhenberg and Sigritzberg also belonged. As part of the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the greater part of the municipality of Breitenlesau was incorporated into Waischenfeld, while the hamlet of Rauhenberg, located about three kilometers west of Breitenlesau, was re-incorporated into the market town of Wiesenttal . In 1987 Breitenlesau had 229 inhabitants.
