The Bremecke , also known as Butterdelle in the upper reaches to the mouth of the Jückenhohl , is a 5.3 km long, southern and orographically right tributary of the Hoppecke in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis .

The Bremecke rises in the northern foothills of the Rothaargebirge . Its source is located about 90 m northwest of the state border with Hesse on the northeast flank of 781  m above sea level. NHN high Dreiskopf at about 625  m altitude.

The Bremecke flows in a predominantly northerly direction through the foothills of the Rothaargebirge and completely through the Diemelsee Nature Park . On its short stretch of river it takes in several streams; underneath are the Jückenhohl (1.6 km long; mouth height approx. 524  m ) that joins on the left  and the Schwartmecke that joins on the right (2.2 km long; mouth height approx.  438  m ).

After passing the Bremecketal industrial area, the Bremecke flows into the Diemel tributary Hoppecke coming from the west at a height of about 400  m . On its 5.3 km long path, it overcomes a difference in altitude of about 225 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of around 42.5 ‰.
