Brent Krahn (born April 2, 1982 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who last played until 2011 for the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League .

Career

Brent Krahn began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , in which he was active from 1999 to 2003 for the Calgary Hitmen and Seattle Thunderbirds . During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the first round as the ninth player of the Calgary Flames . The goalkeeper then went through numerous farm teams in the organization of the Calgary Flames. From 2003 to 2005 he played for the Lowell Lock Monsters from the American Hockey League , at the same time also for the Las Vegas Wranglers from the ECHL and the San Antonio Rampage from the AHL. From 2005 to 2007 he joined the Flames' new AHL farm team, the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights , and in the 2007/08 season after their relocation for the successor team Quad City Flames .

On September 24, 2008 Krahn signed a contract as a free agent with the Dallas Stars , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2008/09 season when he was used in a single game, which was disastrous for him passed. In 20 minutes of play, he allowed three goals in nine shots before he was taken out of the game. The rest of the season he spent with the Chicago Wolves from the AHL and the Las Vegas Wranglers from the ECHL. From 2009 to 2011, the Canadian played for Dallas's AHL farm team Texas Stars . Since then he has been without a contract.
