Brian Hansen (born September 3, 1990 in Evanston , Illinois ) is an American speed skater . He started speed skating at the age of ten .

At his first World Cup participation, the 2009 World Cup in Vancouver, Hansen won the bronze medal in the team pursuit together with Trevor Marsicano and Ryan Bedford .

Hansen took part in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver when he was 19 . In the team pursuit, he won the silver medal together with Chad Hedrick and Jonathan Kuck .

At the 2012 World Cup in Heerenveen , Hansen wins another medal in the team pursuit. Together with Shani Davis and Jonathan Kuck he finished second behind the victorious Dutch.

Hansen studies economics at Marquette University in Milwaukee .
