Brian Kelly (born February 14, 1931 in Detroit , Michigan , † February 12, 2005 in Voorhees , New Jersey ) was an American actor . His most famous role was that of Ranger Porter Ricks in the television series Flipper .

biography

Kelly was the son of Michigan Republican governor and Michigan Supreme Court judge Harry Kelly . He began his acting career after completing military service in the Korean War and a year-long stint at Michigan Law School. At the beginning he played in a number of guest appearances on various television series such as The Beverly Hillbillies or West of Santa Fé .

His best-known role is that of Porter Rick in New Adventure with Flipper from 1964 and the television series Flipper , of which 88 episodes were filmed between 1964 and 1967. In it he plays a widowed ranger who lives with his sons Sandy and Bud and the dolphin Flipper in Coral Key Park in Florida . There they have to deal with poachers and trappers and experience all kinds of adventures under and above water.

In 1966 he was in some underwater around the world to see, in 1968 he followed like many American actors offer to Europe one and turned the spaghetti western The Longest Hunt .
