Brice Feillu (born July 26, 1985 in Châteaudun ) is a French cyclist .

Career

Brice Feillu started his cycling career in 2005 with the French cycling club CC Nogent sur Oise, for which he competed until July 2008. He won there, among other things, the one-day race Classique Sauveterre Pyrénées Atlantique .

From August 2008 Feillu initially drove as a trainee for the Professional Continental Team Agritubel , with which he received his first contract in 2009. On his first outing, he won the final stage of the Alsace tour up to the Ballon d'Alsace . In the same year he achieved his greatest success so far when he won the first mountain finish of the tour in the Pyrenees at the Tour de France . This stage victory also maneuvered him into the dotted jersey of the leader in the mountain classification , which he was only allowed to wear for one day. Until 2017 Feillu started seven times in the Tour de France . His best placement was 16th in the 2017 Tour de France .
