Brigitte Foppa

Brigitte Foppa (born October 8, 1968 in Bozen ) is a German-speaking Italian politician from South Tyrol ( Verdi Grüne Vërc ).

Life

Foppa comes from a Montaner family of entrepreneurs. From 1988 to 1994 she studied German and Scandinavian studies at the University of Milan, and from 1995 to 2002 German and Hispanic studies at the University of Trento . Her thesis dealt with the literary coping with the option period in South Tyrol . She then worked for a while as a translator and proofreader, since 2004 in the South Tyrolean State Office for Further Education. In 2012 she was admitted to the University of Trento for a doctoral degree (subject of the planned dissertation : poetry during the Nazi era in South Tyrol).

In 2009 Foppa was elected co-party chairman of the South Tyrolean Greens together with Sepp Kusstatscher . In 2010 she made it to the Bolzano municipal council. In the South Tyrolean state elections in 2013 , Foppa was able to unite 9,269 preferential votes, whereby she was able to win a mandate for the state parliament and at the same time the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol as second on the list of the Greens . In the 2018 state elections , she was re-elected with 6,997 preferential votes.
