Brigitte Voit

Brigitte Voit (born April 4, 1963 in Bayreuth ) is a German chemist , professor for "Organic Chemistry of Polymers" at the TU Dresden and Scientific Director of the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden e. V. (IPF) in Dresden .

Life

Brigitte Voit studied chemistry at the University of Bayreuth from 1982 to 1987 and did her doctorate under Oskar Nuyken with a thesis on "Water-soluble photoresists based on azo sulfonates ". After her habilitation at the Technical University of Munich , in August 1997, at the age of only 34, she was jointly appointed to the position of Head of the Sub-Institute for Macromolecular Chemistry of the IPF and the Chair of Organic Chemistry of Polymers at the Technical University of Dresden . In 2000 she received the Georg Manecke Prize of the GDCh. Brigitte Voit has been Scientific Director at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research since September 1, 2002.

Brigitte Voit is an extraordinary networker, she participates in numerous committees and joint projects. Through her work as Principal Investigator at the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed), the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) and the Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering (DIGS-BB), she plays an important role in the Excellence Initiative of the TU Dresden as part of the DRESDEN-concept .

On May 29, 2017, the Saxon Prime Minister Stanislaw Tillich presented her with the Saxon Order of Merit for her "commitment to creating strategic-scientific alliances for an internationally visible research location Saxony ". For 2018 she was awarded the Hermann Staudinger Prize .
