Broombeck (Marcus Schmahl)

Broombeck is a solo project by the German techno and tech house musician Marcus Schmahl (born April 13, 1974 in Mainz ). Broombeck was founded in April 2008.

Schmahl has been working in his recording studio as a musician and composer since 1992. He produces a large number of other projects, which stylistically cover the areas of hip-hop , downbeat , jazz , lounge , house , techno , electronica , electro , and drum and bass . He created electronic under the project name Broombeck club music for record labels such as Sébastien Léger's Mistakes Music , Opossum Rec. , And Monika Kruse's label Terminal M .

With the track The Clapper he had his greatest success so far. The track Mono Turn led the Beatport charts for more than 6 weeks and thus reached number 8 on the Beatport sales charts in 2008. In addition, some titles appeared on well-known compilations such as the Time Warp Compilation 09 (mix by Marco Carola ) or Headliners (mix by D Ramirez ) on Azuli Records.

Schmahl combines percussive grooves , deep basslines, breaks and experimental sounds in his pieces . His compositions often arise from a combination of different musical styles .

Since 2009 Schmahl has presented the Broombeck project live in clubs such as the Frankfurt Cocoon Club or Berghain in Berlin.
