At the same time, she leads an intimate marriage and family life. The sex life with her husband Max exudes security and trust. As a bedtime story, she reads the fairy tale The Girl Without Hands by the Brothers Grimm to her son . When she meets one of the chosen patients again and he wants to get closer to her, Charlotte suffers a nervous breakdown. She hits the man and finally collapses.

Charlotte's affairs are now known. She is losing her job as a doctor and her marriage is about to end. Together with her husband, she tries to save the marriage with therapy. Reviews

“The Brownian Movement is not one of the conventional love dramas about an emotionally repressed family mother who leads a sexual double life. The character portrait, filmed in concentrated plan scenes, studies the surface of a deeply withdrawn personality without ever penetrating it. Sandra Hüller's subtle portrayal gives the ambivalent work a frosty sheen. "

"Sex in the depths of space: in the Dutch film" Brownian Movement ", a doctor commits adultery with ugly and hairy men in artistically lit rooms. A study about architecture and desire, which becomes an event through the lead actress Sandra Hüller. "
