Bruno Frey (patron)
Bruno Frey (born June 30, 1920 in Biberach an der Riss ; † February 23, 2005 ) was a German entrepreneur, cultural promoter and patron .
Life
Frey grew up in Biberach and graduated from high school in 1938 . From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier in the German Wehrmacht . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the Soviets . Then he studied from 1946 to 1950 law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg . His first professional activity was taking over a machine factory for felt production in Hanau . Further investments in various companies in Germany and Spain followed. His Bruno Frey Foundation, which was set up in 2004, funded projects worth a total of 625,221 euros in 2011.
The music school in Biberach bears his name.
Frey died in 2005.
