In 1913 he was appointed to the largest children's clinic in what was then Deutsche Reis' in Strasbourg and initially tried to negotiate to stay in Freiburg to build a new children's clinic. When he was not assured of this, he left Freiburg, where he briefly returned after his release in Strasbourg after the lost war in 1918. After an interlude in Marburg , he became professor in Bonn in 1920 , where he died early in 1924 of kidney failure. Bonn owes the first children's clinic to him.

Create

In view of the high infant mortality rate in the German Reich, Salge dealt with nutrition and nutritional disorders, especially of infants, with flour nutritional damage, and pushed ahead with the establishment of milk kitchens and infant care. He introduced buttermilk as a remedy and in his “Therapeutic Pocket Book for Children's Practice”, which appeared in 8 editions between 1905 and 1920, also gave numerous specific recipes.
