Buais is a village and a former French commune with 497 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Manche department in the Normandy region . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Avranches and the canton of Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the former communes of Saint-Symphorien-des-Monts and Buais were merged into a commune nouvelle with the name Buais-Les-Monts and have the status of a commune déléguée in the new commune . The administrative headquarters are in Buais.
