Buchanan is a so-called Village in Westchester County and belongs to the Town of Cortlandt in the US state of New York . Buchanan is located on the Hudson, about 34 miles north of New York City . In 2010 there were 2230 inhabitants.

The Indian Point nuclear power plant is also located in the Buchanan area .
