The village of Buggensegel is one of the eleven suburbs of the Salem municipality in the Lake Constance district in Baden-Württemberg .

Buggensegel was first mentioned in a document under the name Bugo Sedilium (settlement of the Bugo) in 1094. In 1220 the village was sold to the Salem monastery .
