The village of Buggensegel is one of the eleven suburbs of the Salem municipality in the Lake Constance district in Baden-Württemberg .

Buggensegel includes the village of Buggensegel , the houses in Im Bremgarten and In den Rubäckern, and the courtyards in Wehausen .
Expansion of the area
The total area of the Buggensegel district is 361 hectares. Buggensegel is the third smallest suburb of the Salem municipality.
history
Buggensegel was first mentioned in a document under the name Bugo Sedilium (settlement of the Bugo) in 1094. In 1220 the village was sold to the Salem monastery .
Bow sail was incorporated into Salem on April 1, 1972.

The coat of arms of the formerly independent community Buggensegel shows a split shield in front in gold a half eight-spoke red wheel without rims (mill wheel), in the back a growing golden crook with a silver pannisellus (cloth).
Culture and sights
Buildings
- A presumably Romanesque chapel contains a late Gothic winged altar from 1490 and a late Romanesque bronze crucifix from the second half of the 12th century.
- On the Margarethenhöhe west of Buggensegel there is the Margarethenberg Castle Stables .
Regular events
Buggensegel also has its own fools' association, and several events take place in the town center during the carnival season.

The village is dominated by agriculture.
education
In Buggensegel there is a special school for children with developmental retardation with an attached school kindergarten, which was set up by the district after the one-class school was given up in 1966.
