Burchard Eden

Burchard Eden (born August 26, 1618 in Bremen , † September 16, 1689 in Bremen) was a lawyer in Bremen.

biography

Eden attended the grammar school illustrious in Bremen , studied at the universities in Helmstedt and Rinteln and received a doctorate in Dr. jur. He then stayed in Cologne , Groningen , Franeker , Utrecht , Leiden , Bourges and Paris . In Orléans he was the supervisor of the library and he attended the Collegia there . He then traveled to Switzerland and England. He then received his doctorate in Strasbourg in 1646 .

In 1646 he became Vice Syndic and 1655 First Syndic of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . In 1661 he became envoy of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen to the Reichstag in Regensburg . He wrote about it in a footprint of different on the Diet of Regensburg in anno 1663 of Royal Swedish Legation and etc stadtbremischer Memorialien . In 1687 he gave up this office.

Honors

  • The Burchard-Eden-Strasse in Bremen- Schwachhausen was named after him in 1955.
