The castle Bundenbach , including Castle Großbundenbach mentioned, which is ruin a Spur castle west of the town Großbundenbach in Zweibrücken-Land in the district Südwestpfalz , Rheinland-Pfalz . The castle is located in the Won "On Welge reason".

history

The castle was probably built around 1200 by the Counts of Saar Werden. The Counts of Veldenz, Boos of Waldeck, the von Stein family and the dukes of Zweibrücken are named as other owners . The castle was destroyed in the Thirty Years War and demolished in 1813.

In 1389 a castle chapel was mentioned.

The complex was divided into an Upper Castle and a Lower Castle . The lower castle surrounded the upper castle in the north, west and south. Remnants of the wall are still present from the shield wall. There is also the stump of a ten-meter-high residential tower in the center of the upper castle.
