The Glemseck Castle , formerly known as the Alte Burg , is an abandoned hilltop castle above the Glemsal valley on a mountain tongue that runs out between the Rohrbach and Elendbach, about 400 m west of the Glemseck Inn near the current Glemseck district of the city of Leonberg in the Böblingen district in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle complex was dated through excavations and finds to the middle of the 12th century and around 1350 an abandoned castle stable is mentioned in "misery". Strategically, the castle served a military road coming from Nürtingen . After the strategic importance of the castles above the Glemstal was no longer given, they became the seat of the Württemberg forest administration.

The castle hill and the remains of a section of the moat still bear witness to the oval, 50 by 105 m large castle complex with a ring wall and moat ring .
