Altdorf castle ruins

The Altdorf castle ruin is an abandoned castle on the site of today's rectory, still called Bürg today, in Altdorf in the Boeblingen district ( Baden-Württemberg ).

location

The castle is located in the southern center of Altdorf near the church and town hall, less than a hundred meters from the watercourse in the flat upper valley basin of the Altdorfer Würm .

History and description

The local nobility of Altdorf, servants of the Count Palatine of Tübingen , are attested from 1232 to 1393 and can be assumed to have built the castle in the 13th century. From the former castle complex , on the foundation of which today's rectory was built, only built-in wall remains have been preserved.
