Burghard Müller-Dannhausen (born June 26, 1947 in Hildesheim ) is a German painter .

Life

Müller-Dannhausen attended the Werkkunstschule Mannheim from 1971 to 1972 (basic artistic apprenticeship). From 1972 to 1976 he studied painting at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste ( Städelschule ) in Frankfurt am Main with Johannes Schreiter . He lives and works in Koblenz.

Müller-Dannhausen's work extends to classic panel painting , joint projects with the American poet Brian Johnson (so-called chains consisting of poems and pictures) and painterly art-in-space projects.

What these three work areas have in common is a basic coloristic attitude. The color in their coherence and relationships is used as a stimulus for epic associations. It is organized into a painterly structure in each individual image. From the legacy of Concrete Art , Müller-Dannhausen took over the geometric surface delimitation and the homogeneous application of paint and developed painterly structures from this. Material and manual traces are saved in order to bring only the imaginary space and the imaginary light to effect.
