Castle stables in the Munich district

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list gives an overview of castle stables , i.e. places where a castle once stood, in the district of Munich . Castle stables in the city of Munich are listed in the list of castle stables in Munich . Of the medieval castle complexes in the district of Munich, only Grünwald Castle remains today , all the rest have been lost. Schwaneck Castle , on the opposite bank of the Isar, is not a historical castle, but a romantic new creation from the 19th century. Remains of some of the abandoned castles are still visible, others are only known from documents. The exact location of these is often uncertain, and the existence of some can only be assumed. As far as the location is known, these castle stables are mostly entered as ground monuments in the Bavarian list of monuments.
