Burgstall Burklaberg

The Postal Burklaberg even Alt-Schongau called, refers to an Outbound hilltop castle on the "castle of laughter", also called "Schlossberg", north of the local Church of the Old City (formerly the old city Schongau called) in Weilheim-Schongau in Bavaria .

The castle was probably founded by the Lechrainer Guelphs around the middle of the 12th century. The Knights Templar and the Steingaden Monastery are named as other owners of the castle, mentioned in 1224 and which fell into disrepair after 1289 .

Nothing has been preserved from the former castle complex, the castle hill has been partially removed and the castle stable has been built over in a modern way.
