The Burgstall Fußstain describes an abandoned early medieval hilltop castle in a spur position at 695  m above sea level. NHN high and northwest-facing foothills of the "Stöcklesberg" near Hinterfeld, a district of the Habach community in the Weilheim-Schongau district in Bavaria .

The complex was probably founded as a refuge between 900 and 955 during the Hungarian invasions . Some references from the local historical literature point to the castle complex.

The castle complex probably consisted of a 10 by 18 meter core castle with a tower-shaped building (possibly a keep ) and a residential building. There was also a 12 by 18 meter forecourt. Both areas were protected by a two meter deep ring trench and by steep slopes in the north and west.

The circular moat is still preserved from the former castle complex.

Today the site is registered as a ground monument D-1-8233-0078 "Section fortification of the early Middle Ages" by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
