Buzniw ( Ukrainian Буцнів ; Russian Буцнев Buznew , Polish Bucniów ) is a village in the Ukrainian Ternopil Oblast with about 1200 inhabitants (2001).
The village is located at an altitude of 304 m at the mouth of the 18 km long Bridok ( Брідок ) in the Seret , 10 km south of the district and oblast center of Ternopil . In Buzniv there is a train station on the Stryj – Ternopil railway line .
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1504, is the administrative center of the 23.23 km² district council of the same name in the south of Ternopil Rajon , to which the village of Seredynky ( Серединки , ⊙ ) with about 210 inhabitants belongs.
Attractions
Buzniw has two architectural monuments: On the one hand, as a monument of national importance, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary from 1744 and its bell tower and the regional architectural monument, the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul , built in 1887/88 . The village also has a railway viaduct built between 1895 and 1897 over the Seret.
