César González Navas (born February 14, 1980 in Móstoles ) is a Spanish football player .

Player career

Navas started his career in 1999 with the B-Team of the Spanish record champions Real Madrid . There he played in Segunda División B for four years until 2003 . During this time he never played for the senior team. In the summer of 2003 he moved to the B-team of FC Málaga , which was playing in the Segunda División at that time . During the 2004/05 season he got the chance to recommend himself for the first division team of Andalusians and he used this opportunity. For the next 18 months he was a regular defender. After Málaga's relegation to the second division, Navas was loaned to the first division promoted Gimnàstic de Tarragona for the second half of the 2006/07 season. At the end of the season, however, his team rose again to the second division. Navas, however, remained in the premier division as he accepted an offer from Racing Santander . After a disappointing first half of the season with only one league appearance in 2007, he managed to get a regular place in the starting eleven in the second half of the season. In March 2009, Navas moved to Rubin Kazan for two million euros and won the Russian championship in his first season.
