Cúcuta (also: Kokota ) is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Cúcuta is the only town in the canton of Cúcuta in the municipality of Laja in the province of Los Andes . The village is located at an altitude of 3951  m on the Bolivian Altiplano on the mountain river Río Challa Jahuira, which flows here in a south-westerly direction. North-east of the town of Cúcuta in the municipality of Laja, across the street, is the town of the same name in the municipality of Pucarani with 558 inhabitants.

Cúcuta is located on the Bolivian plateau between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.
