The CJ2 , formerly known as the CRH3G , is a high-speed electric train in China that received approval for series production in December 2019. The in CRRC -Werk Tangshan built Multiple Unit based on the technology that came to China Velaro CN by Siemens , but uses an independent intellectual property .

history

With the development of the CJ2, the requirement of the 12th Five-Year Plan was implemented, which required the development of a Chinese high-speed train that renounces foreign intellectual property. The Velaro trains from Siemens were taken as a model, but elements from the Bombardier Zefiro ( CRH380D ) and the Alstom Pendolino ( CRH5A ) were also adopted. The train with a maximum speed of 250 km / h was developed for use over medium distances to connect larger cities and agglomerations.

The train was presented for the first time in April 2013 after the assembly was completed. This was followed by an eight-month commissioning phase at the Tangshan plant before the train was tested on the test ring in Beijing until December 2014 at speeds of up to 160 km / h. This was followed by commissioning runs up to maximum speed on the high-speed line Qinhuangdao - Shenyang and then the 300,000 km test on the high-speed line Shanghai-Kunming . The train was granted approval for series production in December 2019, which is a prerequisite for regular use in passenger train traffic.

technology

The train consists of eight cars, four of which are equipped with powered bogies. The drives are arranged in the end cars and in cars 3 and 6, while the transformers are in cars 2 and 7. The train is designed for high accelerations, short braking distances and fast passenger changes. The train has 623 2nd class seats , with two seats on one side of the aisle and three on the other.
